Hyd: Global packaging market to touch USD 1.5 Trillion in 5-7 years : CII

Hyderabad, Nov 6 (UNI) Vagish Dixit, Past Chairman, CII Telangana & MD, Alpla India, on Thursday said the global packaging market—valued at USD 1.2 trillion—is expected to touch USD 1.5 trillion in 5-7 years, while India's USD 100 billion sector could grow to USD 170 billion.
He urged Indian entrepreneurs to move beyond jugaad toward true innovation: "Indians thrive in uncertainty; let's channel that into invention, not imitation."
In his keyote addres at the inaugural session of two-day 5th edition of CII TG-PackCON 2025 – Vision Edition, a two-day national summit connecting industry, policy, and academia to explore how innovation in packaging fuels economic growth, exports, sustainability, and competitiveness, hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here, Vagish challenged the perception that plastic packaging is ruinous. "That's unscientific".

Kerala HC seeks prosecution’s stand on bail pleas in Sabarimala gold-theft case

Kochi, Dec 5 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today directed the prosecution to furnish its position on the regular bail applications filed by R. Murari Babu, the second accused in the alleged gold theft at Sabarimala Temple, and posted the matter for further hearing on December 11.
Murari Babu, who earlier served as an Administrative Officer with the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), was suspended from his later post as Deputy Devaswom Commissioner following the registration of two crime-branch cases.
