Telangana Drug Control advises public to immediately stop using Coldrif Syrup

Hyderabad, Oct 4 (UNI) The Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Telangana, today cautioned the public to immediately stop using Coldrif Syrup (Paracetamol, Phenylephrine Hydrochloride, Chlorpheniramine Maleate Syrup), Batch No. SR-13, Mfg. Dt. May-2025, manufactured by Sresan Pharma, Sunguvarchathiram, Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu.
The public may also report if possession of the Syrup (Batch No. SR-13, Mfg. Dt. May-2025, Exp. Dt. April-2027) to the local Drugs Control Authorities through the toll-free number 1800-599-6969 without delay, said Shahnawaz Qasim, Director General, DCA, in a release here.
The DCA has been alerted the public following the reports of the tragic deaths of children in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, reportedly linked to the consumption of Coldrif Syrup, manufactured by Sresan Pharma, Sunguvarchathiram, Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu, which has been allegedly adulterated with Diethylene Glycol (DEG), a toxic substance.
