Apollo Hospitals Hyderabad completes first major Proximal Limb Replantation in Telugu states

Hyderabad, Nov 6 (UNI) Apollo Hospitals Hyderabad has achieved a milestone in advanced trauma care with the completion of a complex microvascular replantation surgery, marking the first major proximal limb reattachment performed in the Telugu states.

On October 11, 2024, A Pavan Kumar (32) from Mancherial, was brought to Apollo Hospitals Hyderabad after suffering a traumatic elbow-level amputation of his right hand, accompanied by a Grade 3c open fracture of the proximal humerus and multiple fractures in the amputated limb. Despite missing the critical “Golden Hour” of 4 to 6 hours for reimplantation, Apollo’s expert team moved swiftly, bypassing the ER and transferring him directly to the operating theater for immediate surgery, a hospital stamen said on Wednesday.
