K-SOTTO provides legal assistance related to confirming brain death: DME Dr K V Viswanathan

Thiruvananthapuram, June 14 (UNI) Director of Kerala Medical Education (DME) Dr K.V. Viswanathan has said the Kerala State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (K-SOTTO) is providing legal counsel for all legal assistance related to confirming brain death.
The government has appointed a legal advisor to provide legal guidance related to K-SOTTO's activities as a regulatory body for human organ transplantation in Kerala, the DME said while inaugurating a one-day special training programme for government doctors on certifying brain death.
The primary objective of the programme was to provide expert training to doctors on the precise procedures, technicalities, and legal framework for determining brain death.
