Medaram Jathara to be organised on grand scale, works worth over Rs 250 cr underway: Ministers

Hyderabad, Jan 13 (UNI) Telangana Tribal and SC Welfare Minister Adluri Lakshman Kumar and Panchayat Raj, Women and Child Welfare Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka) on Tuesday said the Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma Jathara should be organised on a grand scale, surpassing even the Kumbh Mela, as the 2026 festival is expected to witness a massive surge in devotees.
The Ministers reviewed the arrangements for the Medaram Jathara, scheduled to be held from January 28 to 31, during a high-level meeting at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat, an official statement said.
Adluri Lakshman Kumar said around 1.5 crore devotees attended the 2024 Jathara, while the turnout for 2026 is expected to touch three crore, making it necessary for all departments to work in close coordination to ensure a hassle-free experience for devotees.
