ICAR–IIRR Industry Meet 2025 fosters stronger research–industry collaboration in rice innovation

Hyderabad, Nov 6 (UNI) The ICAR–Indian Institute of Rice Research (ICAR–IIRR), Hyderabad, successfully organised its Industry–Interaction Meet 2025 at the Rajendranagar campus here today, bringing together key players from the agricultural industry to strengthen partnerships in rice research and technology commercialization.
The event witnessed the signing of four licensing agreements with private sector partners, marking another milestone in the institute's efforts to promote public–private collaboration. Over 70 participants from seed companies, agri-input industries, start-ups, and aspiring entrepreneurs took part in the meet.
The programme began with a field visit, where participants observed displays of innovative technologies developed by ICAR–IIRR in genomics, gene editing, and breeding for high-yielding, climate-resilient, and nutritious rice varieties. Demonstrations also included the institute's facilities for screening false smut and brown spot, key rice diseases.

AP: YS Jagan demands CBI probe into Joji Nagar demolition

Vijayawada, Dec 16 (UNI) Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday demanded a CBI inquiry into what he alleged was the role of people in high places in the illegal demolition of houses in the prime Joji Nagar area here, despite a court order granting relief to residents till December 31.
Speaking to mediapersons, he expressed solidarity with the affected people and offered them all legal help.
