AP: Transco invites interns from IITs to build AI solutions for real-world grid challenges

Vijayawada, May 2 (UNI) In a shift from conventional training programmes, Andhra Pradesh Transmission Corporation (AP Transco) is opening its doors to top-tier technical talent—inviting students from IITs and other premier institutions to work on live power sector challenges.

The Summer Internship Programme 2026 is being positioned not as a routine attachment, but as a problem-solving platform embedded within the state’s grid operations. Interns will be assigned clearly defined challenges, work under senior utility mentors, and deliver implementation-ready solutions—from AI models to engineering frameworks.

Vijay enhances waiver of farm loan to the tune of Rs 6,000 cr, to benefit 14 43 lakh farmers

Chennai, June 16 (UNI) Amid demands from farmers dissatisfied with the earlier waiver announced by the ruling TVK headed by Chief Minister Vijay, the Tamil Nadu Government on Tuesday enhanced the loan component waiver to the tune of about Rs 6,000 crore from the earlier Rs 50,000 announced on May 25 to Rs 75,000 benefitting more than 14.43 lakh farmers.
