Telangana marks Armed Forces Flag Day 2025; Governor, CM lead contributions

Hyderabad, Dec 5 (UNI) The Armed Forces Flag Day 2025 was observed on Friday at the Directorate of Sainik Welfare in Hyderabad and across all ten regional Sainik Welfare Offices in Telangana, with ex-servicemen, their families and NCC cadets participating in the commemorative events.
Established in 1949, the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund supports the rehabilitation and resettlement of ex-servicemen and their families. This year, Governor and Chairperson of the Fund, Jishnu Dev Varma, formally inaugurated the observance by making a generous contribution. He also presented trophies to the Ranga Reddy and Nizamabad regions for collecting the highest amounts toward the fund.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy donated Rs 1 lakh to the Fund and released the book “Brave and Bold”, authored by Col. P. Ramesh Kumar, which chronicles the life stories of 75 gallantry award recipients from Telangana.

Karnataka ESCOMs seek power tariff hike after ₹4,900 crore loss
