AP incurred Rs 5,265 Cr loss due to Montha cyclone: CM

Vijayawada, Oct 30 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the State has incurred a loss of Rs 5,265 crore due to the Cyclone 'Montha' as per the preliminary assessment. The Chief Minister reviewed the devastation caused by the cyclone with officials in the Secretariat in Amaravati near here on Thursday.

Later talking to the media, the Chief Minister revealed that the total loss due to the cyclone was Rs 5,265 crore as per the preliminary assessment. The agriculture sector suffered a loss of Rs 829 crore, the horticulture incurred a loss of Rs 39 crore, the aqua sector suffered a loss of Rs 1,270 crore and the Road and Buildings incurred a loss of Rs 2,079 crore and irrigation department suffered a loss of Rs 207 crore. “Bapatla, Prakasam and Palnadu districts suffered huge losses due to the cyclone,” the Chief Minister affirmed.
