Investigation on DFI nears completion in Rs 514 cr cheating case involving 4,000 victims

Hyderabad, July 8 (UNI) The investigation into a case of cheating 4,000 people out of Rs 514 crore is nearing completion, according to a statement from N Swetha, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Detective Department, Hyderabad on Monday.
On December 23, 2023, a complaint was filed by Susrala Narsimha Murthy, leading to the registration of a case (Cr. No. 358/2023) under sections 406 and 420 read with 34 IPC and Section 5 of the TSPDFE Act at CCS, Hyderabad.
The case was filed against Dhanwantari Foundation International (DFI) Trust, represented by its director Dr P Kamalakar Sharma and others, for allegedly luring senior citizens and other victims from the Brahmin community with promises of high returns on their deposits and investments, thereby defrauding them of approximately Rs 514 crore.
