AP : Vigilance squad seizes rice mill with 25,300 kgs of PDS rice

Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh), July 9 (UNI) Based on a tip off, the Regional Vigilance and Enforcement special squad raided Sri Mahalakshmi rice mill in Kotananduru village, 70 kms from here on Tuesday and seized the mill along with 25,300 kgs of PDS rice.
The rice mill owner Pothala Rambabu was buying the PDS rice from the cardholders at Rs.18 per kg and illegally transporting it to Chhattisgarh state at Rs.23 per kg .
Four electronic weighing machines, 1400 kgs of fortified rice kernels, 3750 kgs of paddy,1500 kgs of broken rice, 1050 kgs rice bran were also seized from the spot, police said here.
