Eco-friendly high-rise buildings key to sustainable future: Telangana IT Minister Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad, July 11 (UNI) Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Friday emphasised the growing need for eco-friendly infrastructure, stating that such structures offer viable solutions to pressing global challenges like climate change, urbanisation, pollution, and rising carbon emissions.
Inaugurating a two-day national conference on “Next-Gen High-Rise Buildings (Advancements in Composite & Steel Structures),” organised by the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (Hyderabad) at the Engineering Staff College of India in Rayadurgam, Sridhar Babu urged civil engineers to take an active role in building a greener and more sustainable future.
Highlighting the government’s vision, he said, “Our goal is to distribute 5 lakh Indiramma houses to eligible beneficiaries within three and a half years. In parallel, we are pushing for innovation in the construction sector that not only boosts development but also supports sustainability.”
