Telangana Govt presents state budget 2025-26 with Rs 3.04 lakh cr outlay

Hyderabad, Mar 19 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, who holds the Finance portfolio, presented a tax-free budget of Rs 3,04,965 crore for 2025-26 in the State Legislative Assembly here on Wednesday.
The total revenue expenditure is pegged at Rs 2,26,982 crore, while the capital expenditure stands at Rs 36,504 crore. This is the first full-fledged budget after the Congress government assumed power in the state and marks the third budget speech for Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka.
On the occasion, Bhatti Vikramarka stated that the government, working with transparency and accountability in the public interest, has presented the annual budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the House.
He emphasised that the administration has successfully balanced welfare and development, comparing it to "a pair of horses" pulling the chariot of good governance. He recalled Dr B R Ambedkar's vision of India as a strong nation upholding political, economic, and social justice and affirmed the government's commitment to constitutional values.
The budget includes significant allocations across various sectors. The Scheduled Caste (SC) Welfare Department has been allotted Rs 40,232 crore, while the Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department will receive Rs 17,169 crore. The Backward Class Welfare Department has been allocated Rs 11,405 crore.
For Panchayat Raj, Rs 31,605 crore has been set aside, while the Agriculture Department has been allotted Rs 24,439 crore. The Education sector will receive Rs 23,108 crore, and the Animal Husbandry Department has been allocated Rs 1,674 crore.
The Civil Supplies Department has been given Rs 5,734 crore, while the Women and Child Welfare Department has been allocated Rs 1,862 crore. The Minority Welfare Department has been allotted Rs 3,527 crore, the IT Department Rs 774 crore, and the Handloom sector Rs 371 crore. For employment programs, Rs 900 crore has been allocated.
Additional allocations include Rs 21,221 crore for Electricity, Rs 3,525 crore for Industry, and Rs 17,677 crore for Municipal Administration and Urban Development. The Roads and Buildings Department will receive Rs 5,907 crore, while Tourism has been allotted Rs 775 crore and Culture Rs 465 crore.
The Forest and Environment sector will receive Rs 1,023 crore, and the Endowment Department has been allocated Rs 190 crore. Rs 10,188 crore has been designated for maintaining law and order in the state.
A total of Rs 22,500 crore has been allocated for the construction of Indiramma Houses, with 3,500 houses planned for each constituency. The Home Department has been allocated Rs 10,188 crore. To support poor households, Rs 3,000 crore has been allocated for free power under the Gruhajyoti scheme.
The government has also announced plans to construct Young India Integrated Schools, with Rs 11,600 crore set aside to provide international-level facilities for students.
For the welfare of farmers, Rs 18,000 crore has been allocated under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. The Health Department has been allocated Rs 12,393 crore, while the Irrigation Department will receive Rs 23,373 crore.
