AP: Rapido management condemns rape incident, assures help to victim

Tirupati, Dec 11 (UNI) The Rapido management expressed regret at the alleged rape of a minor girl by a Rapido auto rickshaw driver.
In a release here on Thursday, the Rapido management said: “We are deeply disturbed by this incident and stand firmly with the survivor at this difficult time. The individual in question is one of over 2 crore registered captains on our platform and, as is common in the gig economy, may be associated with multiple platforms. We would like to state that this incident did not occur on a Rapido ride.
“Passenger safety, especially the safety and dignity of women, is of paramount importance to us. All captains registered on Rapido undergo rigorous onboarding protocols, including comprehensive background verification, strict KYC checks, and immediate suspension of any captain upon receiving credible complaints,” it said.
