YSRCP Leaders Protest at Andhra Jyothi Office in Hyderabad; Tension Prevails; AP CM condemns

Hyderabad, Apr 7 (UNI) Tension prevailed near the office of the media house ABN–Andhra Jyothi here on Tuesday after the YSR Congress Party activists staged a protest against a recent “Weekend Comment” article questioning the adverse stand taken by former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on the official designation of Amaravati as the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh.
Several YSRCP leaders, including MLAs and former ministers such as Ambati Rambabu, Kakani Govardhan Reddy, Jogi Ramesh, Adimulapu Suresh and Viswaroop, participated in the protest. Erragondapalem MLA Tatiparthi Chandrasekhar, MLC Kalpalatha Reddy, former Chief Whip Srikanth Reddy, former MP Bharat, and party leader Lella Appi Reddy were also present. Jagan Mohan Reddy had scrapped the plan of the TDP government for establishing Amaravati as the state capital after YSRCP came to power and instead proposed a three capital formula ostensibly to cut infrastructural cost and ensure what he termed "balanced development" of all regions.
Protesters raised slogans against Andhra Jyothi and its Managing Director Vemuri Radhakrishna. When some of them attempted to enter the office premises, police intervened and prevented them.
