AP: 41.69 lakh MT of paddy purchased from farmers so far: Minister

Vijayawada, Jan 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar said on Monday that the government has so far purchased 41.69 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from the over 6 lakh farmers during the kharif season.
The Minister who held a review meeting with the civil supply department officials here, informed that the government has credited Rs 9,890 crore into the bank accounts of 6,83,623 farmers.for their paddy produce.
"The government credited the bank accounts of farmers within 24 hours of purchasing paddy produce from them. The paddy purchasing process is being carried out successfully and efficiently across the State," the Minister said. He claimed that the problems of measuring moisture of the paddy produce, GPS and transportation were overcome successfully during the kharif season.
