Heavy rain forecast for next 24 hrs in Kangra

Dharamshala, Aug 6 (UNI) Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa said on Tuesday that the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain at some places in the Kangra district in the next 24 hours.
He has appealed to all citizens and tourists not to venture to the banks of rivers and streams. He urged that, in light of heavy rains, do not travel unnecessarily, stay in safe places, and do not take any kind of risk.
Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa said that due to heavy rains, regular monitoring of water levels in the Beas River is being ensured. He said that in this regard, under the Disaster Management Act, it will be necessary for BBMB to send a report to the District Disaster Management Authority every day at 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. regarding the water level in the dam, and along with this, water will have to be released when the water level reaches 1350 feet so that the water level in the dam does not reach the danger level.
