October 2025 wettest in 20 Years, Bilaspur logs 613 pc excess rainfall

Shimla, Oct 31 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh experienced its wettest October in the last two decades, recording 68.5 mm of rainfall against the normal of 25.1 mm, an excess of 173 per cent, according to the Meteorological Centre Shimla.
Officials said this was the highest October rainfall since 2005 and the fourteenth highest in the state since records began in 1901.
The exceptional rainfall followed the deadliest monsoon season in recent years and was mainly caused by two successive western disturbances that struck the state between October 6 and 8, bringing widespread heavy to very heavy rain to most districts.
