Uttarakhand government allows resort construction on agricultural land \\

Dehradun, Dec 10 (UNI) The Uttarakhand government on Wednesday allowed construction of resorts on agricultural land to give a fillip to tourism in the mountainous state.
The decision was taken at a state Cabinet meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami here.
"In view of the potential for tourism development in the state, agricultural land can now be used for the construction of resorts similar to eco-resorts without the need for a change in land use," said Shailesh Bagoli, secretary to the chief minister while briefing about the cabinet decision.

Honour killing in Moradabad; police recover bodies of teacher and her lover

Moradabad, Jan 22 (UNI) A shocking case of honour killing has come to light in Moradabad district, where a woman teacher and her lover were brutally murdered by her three brothers, police said on Thursday. The bodies of both victims were buried in a field behind a temple. On Wednesday night, the police exhumed the bodies in the presence of a magistrate and sent them for post-mortem examination.
