40th State-Level U-14 Athletics Meet inaugurated by DC Kangra

Dharamshala, Nov 4 (UNI) Deputy Commissioner Kangra Hemraj Bairwa today inaugurated the 40th State Level Under-14 Athletics Competition at the Synthetic Athletics Track Ground in Dharamshala by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The event, organised by the Himachal School Sports Organisation and the School Education Department, saw participation from around 450 athletes representing all 12 districts of the state.
In his address, DC Bairwa said Dharamshala is proud to host the event, which not only provides a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent but also promotes discipline, leadership, and overall personality development. He stressed that sports should be an integral part of school education to ensure students remain creative and physically active.
The four-day competition, being held from November 4 to 7, includes events such as shot put, discus throw, sprints, relays, high jump, and long jump. Boys’ events will take place over the first two days, followed by girls’ competitions.
