Punjab: SGPC President to resume service after withdrawing resignation

Chandigarh, Mar 18 (UNI) After a closed-door meeting with former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Sukhbir Singh Badal and other senior Shiromani Akali Dal leaders including Balwinder Singh Bhundar, Working President of SAD, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami on Tuesday announced that he would resume his service for the Panth within the next two to four days.
The meeting was held at Dhami’s residence in Hoshiarpur.
Dhami stated that for a long time, SGPC members, Singh Sahibans and Akali Dal leaders had been urging him to withdraw his resignation. He said that the SGPC Executive Committee, through a resolution passed on Monday, had rejected his resignation.
