Cong to fight till the people of India become self-reliant: Priyanka

Rae Bareli (UP), May 9 (UNI) Congress national General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Thursday accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of misleading voters in the name of religion and caste and said that her party will continue to fight without fear or bowing down to make the people aware of their rights and make them self-reliant.
Giving impetus to the election campaign in support of her brother and party candidate Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka campaigned in the Sadar Assembly of Rae Bareli and addressing corner meetings in Munshiganj, Kalasha, Rajapur, Belakhara, Belatekai, Uttarpara, Bhaon, Lodhwari, Bhadokhar, Bharatganj, Sakra, Sandinagin, Amava, Sidhauna and Tripula.
During her address, she questioned, "Does any BJP leader ever ask you that he has done that work therefore you should vote for us?” He will not say this at all. Whenever they speak they will try to divert your attention and talk to you about religion. The Prime Minister says that if Congress comes, it will steal your property and your house. Did Congress ever do this in the last 55 years of government? We didn't do so, yet BJP leaders always keep telling such lies. They have no work of their own to tell on which they can ask you for votes."
The Congress leader said, "BJP leaders always level false allegations and make false accusations against our family. From Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru to my father Shri Rajiv Gandhi, false allegations were made. We have not inherited wealth but the spirit of dying for the country. If you kill one of us, the second one will stand up. If you kill the third one, the fourth one will stand up. Neither are we going to bow down, nor are we going to be sacred, as long as we have breath and strength, we will keep fighting. We will keep fighting to make you self-reliant."
She said that during his Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi got to know the problems of the people closely and after returning and after discussing with the senior leaders of the party, he said that our manifesto should contain only those promises which we can fulfil.
Priyanka said that Congress' Nyay Patra is Nyay Patra of expectations of the poor. "We have included in it the same guarantees which we were able to implement in other states through our government," she said.
Expressing the emotional relationship of the Gandhi family with Rae Bareli, she said that this relationship of Congress, which started with the people of Rae Bareli in 1921, continues till today. "This soil has given the opportunity to serve the first Prime Minister of this country, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and now Rahul. For this the Congress Party will always be indebted to this soil," she said.
