UP Congress slams Mayawati for betraying Dalits, supporting BJP

Lucknow, Oct 9 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee President Ajay Rai today launched a scathing attack on Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and former state Chief Minister Mayawati, accusing her of consistently "betraying" the Dalit community for political gain.
He alleged that the BSP's recent rally here was funded by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with the sole motive of dividing Dalit votes ahead of the Bihar elections.
Rai claimed that Mayawati has always "misled Dalits" and now aligned herself with the BJP to weaken opposition unity.
