Shimla, May 24 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Congress accusing it of being weak and ineffective in dealing with international threats comparing it to his government when India retaliates against adversaries decisively.
Addressing a poll rally in Nahan, Himachal Pradesh, in support of BJP's sitting MP Suresh Kashyap, Modi emphasised that under his leadership, India has transformed from a nation seeking external assistance to one that boldly tackles its challenges independently.
In his speech at Chogan ground, Modi highlighted the contrast between his administration and previous Congress governments', particularly in handling national security. "You have seen the era of Congress. When there was a weak government in the country, Pakistan took advantage of it.
"The weak Congress government went around pleading for help around the world," he said.
Modi assured the audience that India under his leadership would never beg for assistance but would fight its own battles and retaliate against adversaries decisively.
Modi campaign for Himachal Lok Sabha polls slated for June 1, the last day of the General Election, saw him making a pitch for the BJP's vision of a strong, self-reliant India.
He urged the voters to support Suresh Kashyap to ensure continued progress and stability in the region.
Later in the day, Modi was scheduled to address another rally at Padal ground in Mandi, campaigning for Bollywood actress and BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut.
