PM Modi, CM Yogi express grief over demise of Pt Chhannulal

Varanasi, Oct 2 (UNI) Prime Minister and local MP from Varanasi, Narendra Modi, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, today expressed grief over the demise of Padma Vibhushan classical singer Pandit Chhannulal Mishra.
PM Modi wrote, "I am deeply saddened by the demise of renowned classical singer Pandit Chhannulal Mishra ji. He dedicated his life to the enrichment of Indian art and culture. He not only made classical music accessible to the masses but also made invaluable contributions to establishing Indian traditions on the world stage. It is my good fortune to have always received his love and blessings. He was also my proposer from the Varanasi seat in 2014. In this hour of grief, I express my deepest condolences to his family and fans. Om Shanti."
CM Yogi also expressed his condolences. "The demise of 'Padma Vibhushan' classical singer Pandit Chhannulal Mishra, a connoisseur of Indian music, is extremely sad and an irreparable loss to the field of classical music. Humble tributes to him. He dedicated his entire life to the advancement of Indian classical music. His singing is a source of inspiration for art practitioners. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant the departed soul salvation and his bereaved family, followers, and fans the strength to bear this immense loss," he wrote on X.
