HP: Lok Adalats settle 7,136 cases in Kangra, recover nearly Rs 15.40 cr

Dharamshala, Sep 14 (UNI) The National Lok Adalat, organised in all the courts of the Kangra district, on Saturday, under the chairmanship of Rajiv Bali, Chairman (District and Session Judge), District Legal Services Authority, Dharamshala and Kangra, settled 7,136 cases and an amount of nearly Rs 15.40 crore was recovered.
According to the sources, the 7,136 settled cases included pre-litigation, NI Act, money recovery cases, labour disputes, essential services-related cases (electricity and water bill cases, etc.), Section 125 of the Criminal Procedure Code, expenses cases, criminal compoundable cases, motor accidents, Claims Tribunal cases, matrimonial cases, land acquisition cases, revenue cases, and other civil cases, both pre-trial cases and cases pending in the court.
The settlement was done in 7,136 cases in Lok Adalat and an amount of nearly Rs 15.40 crore was recovered, they added.
