Himachal HC raps Sukhu govt over HRTC dues, warns Rs 50k fine for delay

Shimla, Oct 31 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh High Court has once again come down heavily on the State government and the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) for their continued delay in disbursing the dues of employees and pensioners.
Expressing strong displeasure over the prolonged non-compliance, the court warned the Sukhu-led government of a Rs 50,000 penalty if the affidavit sought in the previous hearing is not filed before the next date.
The matter came up before Chief Justice G.S. Sandhawalia and Justice Jiya Lal Bhardwaj in a series of execution petitions, including Vinod Kumar vs. HRTC & Anr., where hundreds of retired and serving HRTC employees are awaiting payment of their long-pending benefits.
