Assembly polls: BJP constitutes 12-member manifesto committee in Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 8 (UNI) Ahead of the Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has constituted a 12-member manifesto committee that would reach to the doors of the people across all districts of Kashmir valley to get the feedback.
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar on Thursday, BJP General Secretary Sunil Sharma said the committee among others will be headed by the former deputy Chief Minister of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir Nirmal Singh that would collect all information from the ground after visiting the places.
“We have formed three teams that will reach out to people of all three zones—Central Kashmir, North Kashmir and South Kashmir,” Sharma said and added that “BJP leaders will reach out to people at their doors to get their feedback for the party’s election manifesto.”
This, he said, is an exercise aimed to make an election manifesto based on people's aspirations.
Sharma, said that the main aim of the exercise is to make a pro-people poll manifesto based on peoples’ aspirations and expectations.
He said BJP will prepare the ground report and send the same to BJP headquarters in Delhi by August 15.
The General Secretary said BJP is ready for the Assembly election whenever the date is announced in Jammu and Kashmir.
BJP Kashmir unit also sought public opinion for the launch of a dedicated number and email address (Calling/ WhatsApp Number: 9541903938 Email: bhartiyajanatapartyjk@gmail.com) to invite suggestions for the party’s manifesto for the upcoming Assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir.
“As part of our commitment to inclusive and participatory governance, we welcome citizens to share their ideas, concerns, and suggestions that will help shape our manifesto. We believe that every voice matters, and we are dedicated to ensuring that the welfare of the people remains at the forefront of our agenda”, he said.
“The BJP stands for the welfare of the people, and our manifesto will be a testament to our commitment to serve and uplift every individual in our community”, Sharma said.
