Srinagar, July 7 (UNI) Army on Sunday paid rich tributes to the two soldiers who lost their lives in two separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district that also left five militants dead.
Lance Naik Pradeep Kumar of the elite para unit and Sepoy Pravin Janjal Prabhaker of the Rashtriya Rifles unit were killed during the two gunfights at Modergam and Frisal Chinigam in Kulgam district.
Army’s Srinagar-based Chinar Corps Commander Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Atal Dullu, Director General of J&K Police R R Swain, other dignitaries, and all ranks paid homage to Lance Naik Kumar and Sepoy Pravin at a solemn function at Badamibagh cantonment.
“Chinar Warriors salute the valour and sacrifice of both brave hearts. We stand in solidarity with the bereaved families and are committed to their well-being," Army posted on X.
“Martydom is not the end; it’s the beginning of a legend," the Army said.
The wreath-laying ceremony was held at Badamibagh cantonment in Srinagar on Sunday.
