Woman reunited with her family in UP's Hardoi -- 65 years after her abduction

Hardoi, Feb 15 (UNI) A real-life story has emerged from Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh: It began more than six decades ago for a daughter who, now in her eighties, hopes to reunite with her loved ones -- the smell of her parents' home still lingering.
In the words of Mithani, it all began in the year 1962 in the Behta Gokul police station area of Hardoi, about 110 km from Lucknow.
Baldev, a resident of Tolwa Aat village, lived in Purva; where existed only three-four houses. In 1962, a gang of dacoits struck Purva. When the bandits found no valuables on Baldev, they wounded him and his son, Shivlal, with sharp weapons and abducted Mithani, their 15-year-old daughter, who got married only a few days before the dacoity.
