Around 9.87 pc voting till 9 am in Gujarat

Gandhinagar, May 7 (UNI) An estimated 9.87 percent of total 4,97,68,677 electorate exercised their franchise amid tight security arrangements in the first two hours of polling on Tuesday in a single phase election for all 25 Lok Sabha seats in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state Gujarat.
According to the Election Commission, the highest 12.28 per cent of votes took place in the parliamentary constituency of Banaskantha and the lowest 7.23 per cent in Ahmedabad West.
PM Modi reached Ambika Char Rasta Nishan Vidyalaya in Ranip, Ahmedabad, this morning and cast his vote at the booth set up in the school.
On this occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with PM's elder brother were also present. Shah, who is contesting for the BJP from Gandhinagar, later voted with his family in Naranpura.
State Chief Electoral Officer P. Bharti also voted with her family in Gandhinagar Sector 9.
