Fortuner owner caught on camera assaulting liquor store staff over free alcohol in Gurugram

Chandigarh, Feb 15 (UNI) A local man allegedly assaulted a liquor store salesman in Gurugram's upscale Golf Course Road area after his demands for free alcohol were rejected. The incident, which took place in the early hours of Sunday, was captured on the store’s CCTV surveillance system, leading to widespread outrage after the footage surfaced on social media.
The confrontation reportedly began around 4:00 AM at a vend located in Sector 53. According to the victim, Vipin Singh Rajawat, a resident of Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, the accused, Ronik Yadav, arrived in a white Fortuner and began shouting for the shutters to be opened. Despite being told that the establishment was closed for the night, the suspect allegedly attempted to forcibly lift the shutter and kicked the gate multiple times before leaving with a threat to return later.
True to his word, the accused returned to the premises at approximately 7:00 AM while the staff was performing routine cleaning. Entering the store, Yadav reportedly demanded a bottle of liquor free of cost. When Rajawat refused to comply, the situation turned violent. The 2-minute and 38-second CCTV footage shows the assailant grabbing the salesman by his collar and striking him across the face multiple times.
