Heatwave unabated: Una Sizzles at 43.5°C, hill resorts also scorched by rising temperatures

Shimla, June 11 (UNI) The heatwave continued in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday, with Una recording a sweltering 43.5°C, only marginally lower than the 44.2°C recorded a day earlier.
Despite the slight dip, the oppressive conditions left little relief as high temperatures scorched not just the foothills but also the hills and tribal regions.
The intense heat forced residents and commuters to take shelter in shaded areas during peak hours, with humidity and dry winds adding to the discomfort. Neri in Hamirpur recorded 41°C, while Bilaspur and Berthin stood at 39.9°C and 38°C, respectively. Mandi (38.0°C) and Sundernagar (37.9°C) also reeled under soaring heat.
