Seven-day special verification drive launched against Bangladeshi-Rohingya infiltrators in Varanasi

Varanasi, Dec 6 (UNI) A seven-day special campaign has been launched in the Varanasi Commissionerate to verify the identities of Bangladeshis/ Rohingyas, and other suspicious citizens and nomadic individuals, as per the instructions of the Uttar Pradesh government.
On Saturday, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Gomti Zone) Vaibhav Bangar personally conducted a thorough check of suspected individuals living in slums in Koirajpur, under the Baragaon police station area, and issued necessary instructions to the police station.
Special teams have been formed in all police stations of the zone under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Gomti Zone) Akash Patel. These teams are collecting detailed information, including photographs, of individuals living in huts, slums, street vendors, and other suspicious persons in their respective areas.
