UP police recruitment exam conducted; 55 pc candidates skip test in Lucknow on first day

Lucknow, Nov 1 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) conducted examinations for 30,900 posts under various categories, including Computer Operator Grade-A, Police Sub-Inspector (Confidential), Assistant Sub-Inspector (Clerk), and Assistant Sub-Inspector (Accounts).
On November 1, exams were held at 47 centers in Lucknow, where 20,036 candidates were scheduled to appear. However, only about 45% of the candidates took the test, while approximately 55% remained absent. The examination was conducted from 10 am to 12 noon.
Candidates began arriving at exam centers as early as 8 a.m. Entry was permitted after strict biometric verification and thorough frisking starting at 9 am. Items such as shoes, religious threads (kalawa), and hairpins were prohibited inside the exam halls.

Shimla, Dec 15 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh government on Monday lauded the Directorate of Forensic Science's (DFS) performance, noting that the department received 12,209 cases for forensic examination and issued 12,120 forensic reports conforming to international standards, between January 1- November 30 this year.

No interference will be allowed in J-K's hydroelectric projects: Omar

Srinagar, Dec 15 (UNI) Amid allegations of interference in hydroelectric power projects in Jammu region by a BJP MLA, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said any such interference must be taken seriously as these projects are of national importance.
“There should be no interference. And this should be looked at very seriously,” he told reporters here, asserting that institutions which earlier functioned under the elected government must be restored to it.

Punjab Vigilance Bureau nabs 11 persons red handed in 8 bribery cases
