UP police recruitment exam: 55 per cent candidates skip test in Lucknow on first day

Lucknow, Nov 01 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) conducted examinations for 30,900 posts under various categories, including Computer Operator Grade-A, Police Sub-Inspector (Confidential), Assistant Sub-Inspector (Clerk), and Assistant Sub-Inspector (Accounts).
Exams were held today at 47 centers in Lucknow, where 20,036 candidates were scheduled to appear. However, only about 45 per cent of the candidates took the test, while approximately 55 per cent remained absent. The examination was conducted from 10 am to 12 noon.
Candidates began arriving at exam centers as early as 8 am. Entry was permitted after strict biometric verification and thorough frisking starting at 9 am. Items such as shoes, religious threads (kalawa), and hairpins were prohibited inside the exam halls.
