BJP claims Modi govt increased import duty on Apple by raising market rate of foreign produce

Shimla, July 4 (UNI) Amid rising concerns over a possible reduction in import duty on apples during ongoing trade talks with the United States, the BJP media cell has defended the Modi government's stance, asserting that import duty has effectively increased due to a rise in the Market Intervention Price (MIP) of foreign apples.
Party spokesperson Chetan Bragta, son of former Horticulture Minister Narender Bragta, stated that the average MIP for imported apples has been revised from ₹50 to ₹80 per kg.
