Heavy rains hit Bilaspur: Over 400 houses affected, relief measures rolled out

Bilaspur (HP), Nov 1(UNI) As many as 101 kutcha and pucca houses in Bilaspur district were completely damaged, while 313 others suffered partial damage due to heavy rainfall during the monsoon season from June 20 to September 26, Bilaspur Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar informed today.
“As directed by the state government, financial assistance will be provided to the affected families under a special relief package. Under this package, an amount of Rs 7 lakh will be provided in three installments for the reconstruction of completely damaged houses, while a relief amount of Rs 1 lakh will be provided for partially damaged houses," he said.
The Deputy Commissioner further added that the district administration will soon extend assistance to all affected families. He also noted that the district administration has prioritized relief and rehabilitation work in the disaster-affected areas and has been providing aid to affected families as quickly as possible.
