Raipur Sahitya Utsav 2026 set to place Chhattisgarh firmly on India’s literary map

Raipur, Jan 18 (UNI) Chhattisgarh is preparing to make a strong national statement in the world of ideas and culture with the 'Raipur Sahitya Utsav-2026', scheduled from January 23-25 at Purkhouti Muktangan in Nava Raipur. Conceived as a celebration of literature, thought and creative expression, the three day festival aims to highlight the state’s rich literary heritage while fostering dialogue with contemporary national voices.
With less than a week to go, district and state authorities have intensified preparations. Raipur Collector Dr Gaurav Singh and Public Relations Commissioner Dr. Ravi Mittal on Friday reviewed arrangements at the venue, directing officials to ensure that all facilities, ranging from session halls and the main stage to book stalls, food zones, drinking water, parking and security, are completed well within time. Senior officials from the Culture Department, the Chhattisgarh Sahitya Akademi and the organising committee were present during the inspection.
The festival’s central theme, 'Aadi se Anaadi Tak', reflects the continuous and evolving journey of Indian literature, from its ancient roots to its modern expressions. Officials said the Utsav has been designed not merely as a literary gathering, but as an inclusive cultural space that brings together writers, poets, journalists, thinkers, teachers, students and general readers.
