Anti-Corruption Organization team catches Shamli health department employee taking Rs 25,000 bribe

Shamli, October 30 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Organisation team from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh carried out a swift action this morning, arresting a government employee red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 25,000 at the Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) office in Shamli.
According to officials, Rakesh Kumar, posted as a storekeeper and also handling the duties of a senior assistant clerk, was caught accepting the bribe in exchange for approving a medical reimbursement claim. The Anti-Corruption Inspector later registered a case against him at the Adarsh Mandi police station.
The complaint was filed by Ashish Kumar Garg, a resident of Kaka Nagar, whose father, Surendra Kumar Garg, a retired revenue department employee, had passed away on August 13 following treatment for a brain haemorrhage at a private hospital in Meerut. The family had submitted a medical claim of Rs 2.98 lakh to the CMO office.
