Punjab: Police conduct 510 raids, 43 drug smugglers held

Chandigarh, Mar 2 (UNI) Continuing the “Yudh Nashian Virudh” (YNV) war against drugs waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from the state, Punjab police on second consecutive day on Sunday conducted raids at 510 locations leading to the arrest of 43 drug smugglers after registration of 27 FIRs across the state.
With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested in the state has reached to 333 in just two days.
Police teams have also recovered 776 gm heroin, 14 kg opium, 38 kg poppy husk, 2,615 intoxicant tablets and Rs 4.60 lakh in cash from the possession of arrested drug smugglers.
