Burglars steal nearly Rs 28 Lakh from rural bank in Hisar

Chandigarh, Jan 12 (UNI) Burglars broke into a rural bank branch in Haryana’s Hisar district and made away with nearly Rs 28 lakh after cutting through the rear wall of the building and breaching the strong room, police said on Monday.
The incident took place at the Sarv Haryana Gramin Bank branch located in Agroh­a’s Nangthala area.
According to officials, the thieves created an opening by breaking the back wall of the bank and gradually reached the strong room. Using cutting tools, they forced open the safe and removed Rs 27.92 lakh in cash before fleeing the premises.
