Punjab: VB arrests Patwari for taking Rs 10k as bribe

Chandigarh, June 22 (UNI) The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested revenue Patwari Navinderpal, who was posted at revenue halqa Dhapai, sub tehsil Qadian in Gurdaspur district, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
Disclosing this here on Saturday, an official spokesperson of the state, VB said the above mentioned Patwari has been arrested based on a complaint lodged by Harjap Singh of village Dhapai in Gurdaspur.
He further informed that the complainant has approached the VB and recoded his statement that the said Patwari had already taken Rs 2,000 as a bribe and further demanded Rs 10,000 for the mutation of land transferred in the name of the complainant's wife.
