Jhansi shocked as priest fatally attacked inside Baruasagar’s Mansil Mata temple

Jhansi, Dec 7 (UNI) A tragic incident on December 2 has shaken the town of Baruasagar in Jhansi district, where priest Vishal was brutally assaulted inside the famous Mansil Mata Temple. The attack, carried out by his brother-in-law and another relative, left him critically injured. Despite intensive treatment, the priest succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.The incident came to light on Saturday evening after the video of the incident went viral, police said on Sunday.
CCTV footage of the assault, which surfaced on December 6, has intensified the outrage. The video shows accused Balaram alias Bala and his brother-in-law Salil repeatedly hitting the priest with a heavy iron microphone stand. The footage clearly captures the duo attacking Vishal while he was preparing for morning prayers.
According to reports, the accused entered the temple early in the morning and began arguing with Vishal. Within moments, the argument escalated into a violent assault. After striking him several times on the head, the attackers fled the scene.
