Punjab: Lawyers observe No Work Day in Phagwara

Phagwara, Oct 9 (UNI) All Lawyers under the banner of Bar Association, Phagwara, observed “No Work Day” on Wednesday in protest against what they called "long-standing neglect" by the authorities concerning the construction of a new judicial complex and the renovation of the existing one here.
Bar Association President, Karanjot Singh Jhikka said the body has submitted numerous representations and applications to the appropriate authorities for the last several years. But the authorities have neither given a meaningful response nor taken any action to address the concerns regarding the deteriorating condition of the existing court complex.
They said not only has the building become obsolete but also poses significant challenges for the Bar, litigants, and the administration of justice.
