Cong workers stage protest demanding Rahul's candidature from Amethi

Amethi (UP), April 30 (UNI) Even as Congress is yet to announce its candidate for the Amethi parliamentary constituency, once considered to be its bastion, the party workers staged a dharna at the central office in Gauriganj on Tuesday, demanding the high command declare former national president Rahul Gandhi as official candidate from the seat.
It may be noted that even though May 3 is the last day for filing the nomination, the party has yet to decide its candidate on Amethi's seat. This has resulted in confusion among the party workers.
The party workers, led by district president Pradeep Singhal, staged a demonstration at Congress' central office in Gauriganj. The agitating workers demanded that Rahul be declared a candidate from Amethi seat.
