Five killed, one injured in road accident in Amethi

Amethi (UP), June 15 (UNI) Five people were killed when an ambulance carrying a dead body collided with another vehicle in the Shukul Bazar of Amethi district here in Uttar Pradesh on
Sunday, police sources said here.
Police said that this accident happened early this morning on the Purvanchal Expressway when the ambulance carrying a dead body from Haryana to Bihar hit a pickup vehicle from behind.
"In this accident, the ambulance was shattered and five people including the driver died on the spot. The pickup driver also suffered minor injuries in the accident. Local police and UPDA officials are engaged in relief and rescue work," they said.
Station House Officer Shukul Bazar Abhinesh Kumar said that the deceased have been identified as Rajkumar Sharma alias Satish Sharma, Ravi Sharma, Sarfaraz, Abid and Phulo Sharma.
"Shambhurai is injured and has been admitted to the Community Health Centre," he said.
