New Delhi, Feb 25 (UNI) At least 24 government experts from eight countries in the Asia-Pacific region are participating in the first-ever Capacity Building Programme on the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1540 and Strategic Trade Controls for Asia-Pacific countries, being held in India from Feb 25-27.
The eight countries participating include Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Iraq, Laos, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Thailand. It is being held at the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN), Palasamudram, Andhra Pradesh.
It is being organised by the Government of India, in partnership with the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA), a statement said.
