To curb illegal dumping, Delhi govt to deploy civil defence in Hari Nagar

New Delhi, 4 Dec (UNI) Responding to complaints of residents in West Delhi’s Hari Nagar area about mounting piles of garbage dumped at an officially closed site on the Mangal Pandey Marg, Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood on Thursday directed MCD officials to deploy Civil Defence personnel at the site during night hours to prevent illegal waste disposal.
The minister gave directions to the civic body agencies as he inspected several garbage hotspots in the Hari Nagar assembly constituency.
Addressing hygiene and sanitation concerns raised by residents of the JJ Cluster in the area, who had informed the Minister about a missing waste-clearing mechanism, the Minister rebuked the sanitation inspector and sanitation workers for negligence and warned of strict action against those responsible.
