Delhi: Negligence allegations over open drain death in Mukundpur, AAP targets MCD & BJP

New Delhi, May 6 (UNI) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has alleged administrative negligence by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) following the death of a two-year-old girl who fell into an open drain in Mukundpur Part-2.
AAP MLA Sanjeev Jha, who visited the bereaved family, said the incident occurred due to an uncovered drain that had been transferred to MCD from the Flood and Irrigation Department last year. He alleged that despite the handover, the drain was not properly secured, leading to the fatal accident.
Jha questioned the responsibility of civic agencies, claiming that while action was being taken against an engineer of the Flood and Irrigation Department, officials of the MCD were being shielded. He demanded accountability from the civic body and compensation for the victim's family.

Three Indian seafarers killed in US strike on tanker off Oman coast
